Gentlemen,
I am very pleased to know that you are interested in expanding Nu Alpha Kappa onto your campus. I have designed a packet with the intention of giving you a written insight into our brotherhood (available upon interest/request). I understand that you may still have several questions and I encourage that attitude; after all, it is important to know what you are getting yourself into.
As a founding member of the Sigma chapter, I understand exactly what is required of a group of gentlemen to establish a new organization on their campus; therefore, I am fully committed in assisting you in any way possible to ensure that this task can be accomplished successfully.
Nu Alpha Kappa does not strive to construct more chapters than any other organization. However, we are open to expansion and are excited about growth. Therefore, we will do everything in our power to ensure that wherever we do expand, a high-quality chapter is established.
We are looking forward to working with you. If you have any question regarding the expansion process, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Respectfully yours,
Jesús Rodríguez Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity, Incorporated National Director of Expansion

Students who are interested in beginning a chapter of Nu Alpha Kappa on their campus should contact the National Director of Expansion (

) for an overview of the process and to schedule an informational presentation about NAK to be held on the potential chapter’s campus.
After the formal presentation, students are required to submit a letter to the National Executive Board, expressing an unmistakable commitment and intention to establish a chapter of Nu Alpha Kappa.
NAK Affiliated Community Organization (N.A.C.O.) status is the first official step in the expansion process, granted after the potential interest group’s letter is received.
The basic requirements of the N.A.C.O. process are listed below and will be thoroughly explained during the informational presentation. - Establish contact with campus Greek advisor and become familiar with policies and regulations regarding Greek expansion
- Select a faculty/staff advisor
- The group must have at least 5 full-time undergraduate students attending the same college or university
- Attain on-campus recognition as a student organization, under the name N.A.C.O.
- The group must have a permanent mailing address, preferably on campus. A local P.O. Box is acceptable and must be in the name of N.A.C.O.
- Establish a N.A.C.O. bank account
- Create a N.A.C.O. business plan (organizing an executive board, fundraisers, community service, campus programming, socials, academic programming, brotherhood activities, etc.).
- Meet Requirements of:
- Academic Excellence
- Cultura
- Brotherhood
- Community Service
The above is a simple overview of what one can expect during the N.A.C.O. process and does not include every detail of what shall constitute as the N.A.C.O. process; once the requirements are met, the group will prepare a presentation for the National Executive Board of Nu Alpha Kappa which should demonstrate the group’s ability to be self-sufficient. The next step will be the Founding Father Intake Process. |
