NAK Alumni Convention 2016 | San Jose, CA | June 24-26

From The National Alumni Association:

On behalf of the NAK National Alumni Association, we are proud to bring you the inaugural NAK Alumni Convention!

The purpose of this event is to create an upleveled platform for NAK Alumni and older brothers to convene, network and strengthen their brotherhood ties.

In early 2016, the NAA sent a survey to our alumni, asking for their input on a possible national alumni event. The response we received as tremendous – it showed that this program is greatly needed and will be well received.

We invite you to explore the package options below and make time to connect with brothers you may have not seen in a while…or just make time for a well-deserved weekend with your NAK family.

Please note that while this program is geared toward NAK Alumni, all older NAK brothers are invited to attend.

See you in San Jose this June, brother!

In brotherhood,

The NAK Alumni Association

Q: What is the purpose of this event?

This is NOT a professional development conference.

#NAKcon2016 is a place for NAK alumni and older brothers to re-engage, re-connect and re-organize with the fraternity. This will be a brotherhood-heavy weekend with lots of memorable things on tap, such as a golf tournament, brewery tour, sports memorabilia raffles, scholarship endowment announcement and networking mixer on top of the one the tallest buildings in San Jose.

Q: Who came up with the idea?

The National Alumni Association surveyed our alumni brothers earlier in 2015 to gauge the interest in a NAK alumni-only event. The responses were overwhelmingly ‘yes’ and very insightful as to what bros wanted to see.

Q: Who can attend?

All NAK alumni and professional brothers (been a NAK for 5+ years) are invited to attend. We are purposefully engaging our older brothers in a more upscale event.

Brothers who are members of a chartered local Alumni Association received discounted packages.

Partners are also invited to come. We did not make accommodations for children this year, but plan to do so at future events.

Q: Where does the money go?

This is a breakeven event.

We are not profiting. The National Alumni Association has fronted all of the costs thus far with the goal of providing a place for older brothers to unite. This is not a profitable event for us – we merely want to start what has been long overdue for the fraternity and bring our older brothers together.

Every $1.00 Spent On NAKcon Registration Goes Toward:

$0.37 Saturday night gala
$0.16 Friday & Saturday Shuttles
$0.13 Golf Outing
$0.09 Commemorative gifts
$0.09 Hotel for Special Guests
$0.07 Admin & Printing
$0.06 Other Food & Beverage
$0.04 Brewery Tour

Q: What do packages include?

* A networking mixer on Friday evening
* A brotherhood breakfast on Saturday morning
* Choice between a golf tournament or brewery tour on Saturday afternoon (plus, transportation to and from)
* A prestigious gala on Saturday evening with a massive special announcement that will change the course of NAK for years to come

There are also options for:
* Hotels for both nights
* Package add-ons for a +1
* Sponsorship booths for the Friday night mixer for brothers who are in business

Q: Why did prices of hotels drop?

We’ve gotten some comments from brothers that they’d like to attend the event, but the hotel prices are a bit too steep. We understand. The prices are currently $110 per night. Again, we are not profiting from this – this is the actual room cost.

BUT, in an effort to get brothers to this event, we’re discounting the rooms to $80 per night! So, instead of your total being $220 for both nights, your total is just $160. The NAA is paying the difference because we WANT you to attend.

The major caveat here is that we have to turn in our final rooming reservations by this Friday, June 10 – so the DEADLINE to get a hotel room at this price is this Friday at noon PST.

Q: When is the deadline to buy a package?

The deadline to buy a full #NAKcon2016 package is Wednesday, June 15 at noon. After this time, packages will no longer be sold on the website.

We will offer a few la carte options after that, but your best deal is getting a package. If you priced the different items in the package out separately, you would easily surpass $130. But our packages start at $100 for NAA members, so you’re getting a much better deal.

Q: Didn’t see your question answered?

If you have questions that were not answered above, please get in contact with any #NAKcon2016 committee member. We’d love to educate you or your local Alumni Association to show you the value in this event and get you to San Jose in June.

In an effort to showcase our entrepreneurial brothers and their businesses, we are offering sponsor booths at our NAKcon ’88 Mixer on Friday night for our brothers.

Each brother who purchases a booth will receive a dedicated table to market his business. We accept brothers with any type of business (real estate, products, photography, insurance, marketing, design, printing, etc.).

This is a tremendous opportunity to cultivate business between our brothers and highlight the NAK businesses that exist in this brotherhood.

What Your Booth Includes:

You will receive 1 booth/table area at our Friday night networking mixer. You can bring your products, marketing collateral, banners, fliers, giveaways, or anything else you would like to feature at your area.
