RENO, Nev.  – As part of its annual Pledgefest event, more than 150 prospective members and members of Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity, Inc. will take to the Reno streets in a massive effort to clean the city and beautify the local scene.

Pledgefest is an annual development conference for all prospective brothers of Nu Alpha Kappa with an emphasis on workshops, keynote speakers, better health, and community service.

“We’re excited to bring our mass of prospective members to Reno and take on this expansive cleanup effort,” said Eric Baca, Nu Alpha Kappa National President. “With every city we host a national event in, we try to impact it positively and leave a good mark on the locals. Service and staying connected to our communities is a priority to us and we’re looking forward to make a difference in Reno this weekend.”

From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, NAK will send groups of more than 50 men to pick up trash, re-paint and groom three different areas of Reno – downtown Reno near Virginia and 2nd Streets, north Reno near Wells Ave and Interstate-80, and northeast Reno near Sullivan Lane and Oddie Boulevard.

The massive effort is part of Nu Alpha Kappa’s goal to give back to our community, and ensure a healthy environment for current and future generations.

If you wish to interview anyone involved or arrange group photos of the cleanup, please contact Programs Director Juan López at Juan.V.Lopez@Nakinc.org or 702-883-0228.
